This 2022 dated reverse proof coin from the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) represents the first Ultra High Relief version of the Silver Maple Leaf coin! The standard Silver Maple leaf bullion coin, which has been annually issued since 1988, features a relief height of 0.3 mm. The design height of the Ultra High Relief variety extends an incredible 1.4 mm above the coin's surface, nearly five times higher. The original, time-honored image which was introduced on the Gold Maple Leaf in 1979, was re-designed into the Ultra High Relief rendition for this limited mintage release by award-winning artist Susan Taylor.

In addition to serving as an apprentice to Mr. Ott in the early 1980s, Ms. Taylor was the RCM's Senior Engraver from 1999 until her 2017 retirement. This 2022 Silver Maple Leaf coin is crafted from 1 Troy oz. The coin features a spectacular Ultra High Relief strike.

Obverse: The obverse features an elegant, right facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The likeness of the monarch is accompanied by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II, " "20 DOLLARS" and 2022. Reverse: A majestic Ultra High Relief maple leaf is centered on the reverse, with its amazing network of veins and natural texture rendered with meticulous detail.
