The reverse design by Canadian artist Joel Kimmel features two members of Team Canada during the 1972 Canada-U. Set against the teams jersey's maple leaf, the hockey players are surrounded by the words "THE SERIES LA SERIE" and "50 YEARS ANS". The coaches' initials and the players' jersey numbers line the core's outer edge to represent the spirit of Team Canada, while the outer ring features a hockey net pattern. That hockey net pattern repeats on the obverse, which features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
