The Royal Canadian Mint's (RCM) Silver Maple Leaf series, introduced in 1988, celebrates its 33rd year of issue in 2021. The coin shares its iconic maple leaf design with the Gold Maple Leaf series which has been minted since 1979. Each 2021 Maple leaf bullion coin is this roll of twenty-five is struck from 1 Troy oz. Each coin's obverse and reverse is minted with a finely lined pattern as a counterfeit prevention feature. The coins include a micro-engraved maple leaf shaped security mark with "21" at the center. Amazingly Detailed Maple Leaf Imagery. Obverse: The obverse features the likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The radial line patterned security field is inscribed "ELIZABETH II, " "5 DOLLARS" and 2021. The portrait is the work of Canadian artist Susanna Blunt, who won the RCM's competition to sculpt the coinage effigy in 2003. Reverse: A national emblem of Canada, the sugar maple leaf, is located on the reverse, with the coin's purity "9999" inscribed to the right and left of the leaf. Additional inscriptions include "CANADA" curving above, and FINE SILVER 1 OZ.
